Circular Design Futures
From plastic waste to tangible prototype.
As part of a global circular design initiative, I led the end-to-end development of a competition system that engaged over 500 students from 30+ universities. My role spanned crafting the brief and evaluation criteria, building digital tools, mentoring finalists, and guiding the prototyping process.
The challenge focused on reimagining waste materials into community-centered design concepts. Over 200 proposals were submitted; three were mentored to prototype, and one was selected for exhibition at a major international design event.
Outcome
A replicable model for circular innovation and emerging talent discovery.
From concept to showcase, this initiative supported sustainable design, cross-cultural mentorship, and hands-on prototyping. It offered a platform for next-generation young designers to demonstrate how they think, design, and act in response to real-world challenges—while providing visibility, engagement, and strategic insights for institutional and organizational partners.
